The prime purpose of the regulations is safety and secondly the preservation of the sport as we know it.

Crash Helmets must be worn by all drivers of seated mowers and the use of protective clothing is strongly recommended. Drivers will not be allowed to race with bare legs or arms. Gloves may be required by the organisers of certain events.

The maximum engine size is 8hp Side valve or 7.5 hp overhead valve BUT see specific regulations as the basic rule is that the mower can only be raced with its original engine.
